Frequently Asked Questions:
How does the cost of hardwood floor compare to other floor coverings?
Customers are very surprised to find out how affordable hardwood is. In our area, most people choose the rustic look in hardwood and customers have said after pricing out other coverings, that hardwood was less or very similar to pricing a decent carpet or tile.
How does sanding and refinishing my floor compare to replacing my carpet?
Restoring your hardwood floors can be done at a fraction of the cost of replacing carpeting.
Can an engineered floor be refinished?
Yes. Engineered floors are not like laminated floors, which can never be sanded & finished. If you have a concrete sub floor or a sub floor such as O.S.B. board, it cannot accept a solid nail down floor. Engineered floors are floated, most can be sanded and finished or buffed and recoated.
If my floors are old and have never been refinished how will they turn out?
Beautiful! The beauty of hardwood floors is you can take a dingy, dull floor and turn it into a new floor.
My child's doctor has suggested eliminating the carpeting to help with their allergies. Will that help?
Yes. People are finding that hardwood is a great alternative to help with those problem allergies. Hardwood is clean and does not grow mold & mildew.
How often do my floors have to be sanded & finished?
If your floors have been finished properly you should have years before you need to buff and recoat them. It is not necessary to sand and finish your floor if you maintain them by sand screening and recoating as the years go by and you see your high traffic areas wearing.
Will I need to move my furniture out of the room?
If installing a new floor or sanding and finishing, yes. Furniture must be out of the area in order to ensure a quality job.
Can I have a price estimate on a hardwood floor?
